MFG Material Handler (B Shift Days)

About The Position

This position is responsible for supporting Latter and Prior process duties in order to assure smooth logistics operations. Key tasks include receiving, distributing, and storing products, preparing and maintaining records of materials, reviewing shipments for quality and accuracy, transporting and loading materials, and updating product location moves on an electronic system. The role also involves completing work in process (WIP) inventory counts, collecting and disposing of scrap, and maintaining 5S within the working area. Material Handlers will report to the area Supervisor for direction during downtime, which may include supporting Prior process, Hand Shimming, and/or Cleaning. Additionally, this role is responsible for training new MFG Material Handlers.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents, forms and instructions in English.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence in English.
  • Ability to effectively respond to questions in English.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English.
  • Ability to effectively deliver presentations to Managers, Staff, clients, and the general public in English.
  • Basic Math including an 80% score or higher for the SCM Logistics "Basic Math Test" LD-FO-013.
  • Ability to apply knowledge and sense of understanding to carry-out detailed written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to analyze and use various documents (contracts, purchase orders, etc.).
  • Ability to use a computer as necessary.
  • Must be tactful, mature, flexible and able to successfully respond to multiple work pressures.
  • Must have knowledge of Quality and Environmental systems.
  • Ability to stand, sit, or walk, in office or field duties;
  • A full range of motion to see, hear, touch, and to observe documents at the office or materials on the field;
  • Ordinary vision and hearing for communication and observation;
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent experience
  • Must pass a written Math test

Responsibilities

  • Receives, distributes and stores products as directed in designated, secure locations
  • Prepares and maintains records of materials received/shipped including dates of transactions and other pertinent information.
  • Reviews shipments for quality and accuracy; reviews for accompanying documents for accuracy.
  • Transports and loads materials, supplies and finished goods
  • Accurately and consistently update product location moves on electronic system
  • Complete work in process (WIP) inventory count as required. The WIP count should be completed by 5AM
  • Collects and properly disposes of scrap bracing, cardboard, and strapping
  • Maintains 5S within the working area. 5S includes -Lots in same row as accompanying Parts -Corrugate staged in appropriate location at line -Remove any empty pallets or scrap corrugates from area
  • Upon any downtime Material Handler should report to area Supervisor for direction. These jobs may include supporting Prior process, Hand Shimming, and/or Cleaning
  • Responsible for training New MFG Material Handlers. This includes Material Handlers that go to Nights and Days
