This position will support the second or third shift team. The Material Handler will be responsible for supplying the press department with supplies needed from the warehouse; keeping the warehouse organized and orderly by helping to unload trucks and marking, bar-coding, and putting paper and other supplies into inventory. The Material Handler is also a back up to the Driver position as needed.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to lift 20-30 pounds continuously, the ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Must be able to stand and/or be mobile for most of the shift
  • Efficient use of computers.
  • Communicate effectively over the telephone.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, grasp and reach frequently.
  • Must be able to perform well under deadline constraints and meet quality standards.
  • Must be detail oriented and have excellent, quality driven work habits.
  • Willingness to work overtime, and if needed, holidays and weekends.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Must be able to pass drug screen and background check- motor vehicle record
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without restriction

Responsibilities

  • Reads shipping orders to determine items to be gathered, staged and assembled.
  • Conveys materials from receiving area to production or storage.
  • Sorts, places items on storage racks.
  • Marks materials with identifying information.
  • Operates forklift, hand trucks, or dolly to convey items.
  • Safely loads and unloads trucks (after successfully passing forklift training and test).
  • Manage phase in/out of materials to minimize risk of obsolete stock.
  • Maintain cycle counts and reconcile results to ensure accurate inventory records.
  • Participate in the annual physical inventory count team as assigned.
  • Coordinate with carriers and freight forwarders to schedule pick-up of goods.
  • Confirm physical shipment of goods and facilitate tracking of packages.
  • Assist & evaluates needs with shipping points, services, weights & freight permits and other information needs.
  • Receive inventory: Verify product and quantity received is accurate.
  • Process in-bound and out-bound shipments.
  • Maintain accurate records of all items shipped and received.
  • Prepare shipping documents.
  • Verify returns from customers.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as filing and data entry.
  • Completing daily shift duties.
  • Maintaining cleanliness of dock and receiving area.
  • Assists in training individuals and other team members as assigned.
  • Complies with established safety procedures and policies.
  • Works with other departments and maintenance personnel on projects and/or validations
  • Focuses on Continuous Improvement, Quality, Improved Cycle Times, Safety, Cost Reductions, and Customer Satisfaction.
  • Complies with company policies, procedures, and core processes.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned
