About The Position

Responsible for movement of raw materials, finished products, and equipment throughout the facility using a forklift truck. May also utilize cranes, hoists, hand trucks, and other moving equipment to meet job requirements. May perform other general warehouse functions in support of operational requirements. Performs work under minimal supervision. Handles complex issues and problems. This is a position that works directly on the warehouse floor on or around heavy machinery.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • 4 – 6 years of warehousing experience – especially in Metals industry
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. for 100 feet
  • Lean and Quality Control experience
  • Proficient in reading, writing and math
  • Previous forklift certification and use of handheld measuring tools
  • Proficient in computer skills / knowledge such as database programs and MS Office
  • History of consistent dependable attendance
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time and perform bending, twisting, squatting, reaching and grasping motions.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately remove and stock product, customer’s product, and various supplies according to inventory plan
  • Accurately select product to fill customer orders and package them properly
  • Load and unload trucks and verify that correct items are loaded and unloaded
  • Examines incoming shipments for damages or shortages
  • Picking, processing and packing orders, also may be required to cut orders on Kaltenbach saw
  • Cycle Counts
  • Identify, hold and segregate defective material
  • Complete paperwork per work instructions, when required
  • Perform general clean up
  • Inspect forklift at the beginning of every shift; report issues to immediate supervisor or other designated personnel
  • Participate, support and comply with all health, safety, ISO and 6S Initiatives and requirements
  • Assist in any other duties to support the operation, as requested by supervisor
  • May provide leadership, coaching and/or mentoring to lower level employees
