About The Position

Atlas Machine & Supply, Inc. is seeking an experienced Material Handler to join our growing team in Louisville, KY. This role is responsible for the safe, efficient handling, storage, and movement of materials and products within a warehouse or manufacturing environment. Key responsibilities include receiving, organizing, and distributing materials, tools, and equipment, while maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring adherence to company policies and safety standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing environments is a plus.
  • Forklift experience preferred; ability to obtain certification if needed.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and remain on feet (standing/walking) for extended periods in an industrial machine shop environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and analytical thinking.
  • Effective communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills with a positive, professional attitude.
  • Demonstrated diligence and ability to work independently while meeting deadlines.
  • Basic proficiency in computer and inventory software (e.g., Epicor, Microsoft Office).
  • Ability to read and understand work orders and identify job requirements.
  • Flexible availability, including willingness to work overtime as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing environments is a plus.
  • Forklift experience preferred; ability to obtain certification if needed.

Responsibilities

  • Load, unload, move, and store materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment.
  • Receive incoming shipments, verify contents against packing slips, and inspect for damage.
  • Accurately pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment.
  • Stage materials for machine operators according to daily production schedules.
  • Maintain organized inventory with proper labeling and storage.
  • Assist with packaging, crating, or bundling of machined parts for shipment or storage.
  • Perform regular inventory and cycle counts; reconcile discrepancies and assist with audits.
  • Transport materials between production areas, warehouses, and shipping docks.
  • Operate equipment in accordance with training and safety guidelines, using PPE as required.
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, orderly work environment.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate tasks and priorities.
  • Maintain awareness of equipment locations and layout within the Machine Shop.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
