About The Position

Panasonic Canada Inc. is currently looking to hire for the position of Material Handler. The Material Handler will be responsible for accurate and timely picking orders, shipping and receiving of Panasonic’s products. Participates in inventory cycle counts. Regularly inspects forklift for safety of operation. Ensures that stock is neatly, and efficiently located. This is a contract role for 12-months. This position is onsite. Office-based work will be performed from our Mississauga office at Ambler Drive. Candidates must be legally eligible to work in Canada at the time of application. Please note, Panasonic Canada Inc. does not offer sponsorship to individuals for the purpose of obtaining temporary work permit/visa or permanent residency.

Requirements

  • High school diploma and a minimum of one year of experience in physical distribution or a related warehouse environment.
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) certification required; training can be provided if needed.
  • Valid forklift license required.
  • Valid clamp certification required
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience operating both clamp machines and forklifts required
  • Ability to operate a Radio Frequency (RF) handheld wireless warehouse system; training available.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to efficiently organize and allocate products within the warehouse.
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with internal team members and external shipping personnel.

  • Training on PCI models will be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and unload inbound shipments of Panasonic products. Verify transportation document, which is a summary by model, manually off load the container, assess the received product to the transportation document and make note of missing or damaged cartons.
  • Enter received product into the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and put away in the most suitable location as per the warehouse floor plan.
  • Prepare and load outbound shipments to PCI product distributors.
  • Assemble order from the stock of stored products by carrier and by customer based on route map generated by WMS. Verify what has been assembled to packing list, ensure all outbound cartons have an address label, produce the bill of lading manifest, load trailer, and confirm product departure in the system.
  • Unload dealer returns as required by manually unloading the cartons and verifying the transportation documentation.
  • Manually log the receipt and arrange for the transfer of goods to Miscellanies Sample Stock (MSS).
  • Ship and receive internal warehouse transfers to the employee store, the Millcreek warehouse, the Industrial warehouse, Quality Assurance, Service, or to fixed assets.
  • Assist with customer pick-ups as required.
  • Participate in the pre-shift inspection of an assigned forklift based on forklift license training requirements.
  • Report required repairs to management.
  • Re-stock paper and or labels.
  • Maintain efficient locations of stored goods, by orderly relocation of partly picked pallets.
  • Ensures cleanliness of work area and maintains work area safety standards.
  • Assist with daily inventory cycle counts.
  • Using the Warehouse Management System obtain the system count for assigned model numbers, at the beginning of the shift.
  • Physically verify the count of each model number.
  • Advise Supervisor of discrepancies.

Benefits

  • The hourly wage range for this position is $ 18.21- $22.00 CAD.
  • Actual compensation offered to the selected incumbent will vary depending on the individual’s knowledge, skills and experience related to the role.
