About The Position

Holman is seeking a Material Handler to join their team in Ft. Wayne, IN. This role is responsible for maintaining inventories, assisting with cycle counts, positioning bar codes, allocating parts to job/work orders, maintaining mechanics materials, pulling and staging parts, receiving packing slips, verifying quantities, and shipping parts to customers. The Material Handler will also be responsible for collecting and packaging items for shipment, checking in and moving delivered vehicles, operating lifting systems with care, and communicating suggestions for process improvement. Compliance with safety policies and clean initiative standards is required. This is a full-time position with a pay rate of $21/hr and hours from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm.

Requirements

  • Basic computer skills.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Must be able to work in multiple environments – shop, outside in all types of weather conditions as well as in an office.
  • Must pass a physical and criminal background check prior to employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience or forklift certifications in warehouse / materials environment desired.
  • Experience with wireless inventory system is desired.
  • Experience with UPS or FedEx shipments is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain inventories of all inventoried items (controlled and/or non-controlled).
  • Assist and participate in conducting cycle counts.
  • Properly position bar coding on all incoming parts and equipment.
  • Allocate required parts to job/work orders and complete requisitions for parts shortages.
  • Maintain mechanics materials and orders based on pick sheets.
  • Pull and stage parts for job/work orders.
  • Receive packing slips and verify quantities for parts against purchase orders.
  • Responsible for the shipment of parts to customers.
  • Collect and properly package inventory and purchased items needing shipment.
  • Properly check-in and move vehicles delivered.
  • Possess an understanding and exercise extreme care during the operation and movement of large parts while using the company lifting systems.
  • Inform and communicate suggestions and errors to relevant departments for continuous improvement of the installation process.
  • Comply with the company’s safety policies and clean initiative standards.
  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.
