About The Position

The Material Handler III is responsible for the safe and accurate loading and unloading of product within the distribution center. This role utilizes ERP systems for location and storage of items, proper packaging, and material movement methods. The position may involve preparing goods for final shipment, including domestic and international documentation. Responsibilities include handling both inbound and outbound materials based on business needs. The role requires operating material handling equipment (MHE) and potentially using voice/RF scanners in a metrics-driven environment. The position will have exposure to moving mechanical equipment and requires the ability to perform essential functions with or without accommodation.

Requirements

  • High School diploma, GED or 3 years of relevant experience required.
  • Experience with MHE, including Order Pickers, Reach Trucks, Counter Balance (slip and clamp), and Dock Stocker.
  • Forklift Certification required.
  • Good verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced distribution environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret distribution documents.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • May be required to operate MHE and use Voice/RF scanner.
  • Ability to perform/operate in a metrics-driven environment.
  • Basic analytical, organizational and prioritization skills.
  • General distribution knowledge.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without accommodation.
  • Must be able to maintain equipment certification at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Pallet/Case Picking: Processing customer orders including scanning bar codes, picking and labeling boxes, and processing orders through RF technology.
  • Pallet Build: Palletizing orders, re-palletizing products for shipment, and potentially performing dock manifest duties.
  • Inbound/Outbound/Inventory Movement: Using ERP systems for location and storage, preparing goods for shipment, and loading/off-loading pallets using WMS.
  • Maintaining an acceptable and clean work area as outlined in SOP and work instructions.
  • Following Good Documentation Practices (GDP) as outlined in SOP.
  • Completing all necessary RF device training.
  • Responsible for accuracy verification and shipment packaging.
  • Operating material handling equipment in a safe manner.
  • Reporting any damage and/or maintenance issues with equipment immediately.
  • Maintaining equipment certification at all times.
  • Performing job activities in a safe and reasonable manner and in accordance with safety requirements.
  • Assisting in maintaining the security of the warehouse and promoting a safe environment.
  • Reporting all injuries, accidents, unsafe acts, hazards or conditions immediately.
  • Reporting any suspicious persons or activity.
  • Understanding organizational quality goals.
  • Maintaining a clean, neat, and orderly work area at all times.
  • Potentially receiving Hazmat training.
  • Becoming knowledgeable with the responsibilities of other warehouse positions and assisting as required.
  • Acting as back up during absences or vacations.
