The Production Material Handler primary responsibilities include transporting materials to support production, keeping inventory levels accurate, and supporting the distribution order process.

Requirements

  • Three to five years of related experience and / or training, or the equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
  • This position requires forklift certification through Miller Manufacturing.
  • On the job training may be required.
  • Communicate effectively with co-workers and management.
  • A qualified candidate must possess the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Candidate must also possess the ability to apply abstract concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but non-engaging, written and oral instructions.
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Apply good judgment in recognizing scope of authority.
  • Use of depth perception, close vision, and color vision are all continuously required.

Responsibilities

  • Performs various warehouse functions to ship on time and complete to Miller’s customers.
  • Transport materials by forklift, pallet jack, by hand, or cart as required to support material flow.
  • Transport material from the department staging area to the proper put-away locations to ensure inventory organization and accuracy physically and in M3.
  • Organize materials to support the manufacturing floor while assuring inventory accuracy.
  • Complete receipts to Manufacturing Orders & complete Manufacturing Order paperwork to ensure inventory and production completion accuracy.
  • Use mobility device to complete inventory move transactions and complete required paperwork to ensure accurate inventory.
  • Support the Distribution Order (DO) Process to ensure finished goods are transferred from MFG to DC to keep product flowing to the DC in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Perform 6S activities to keep the work area and department clean and organized.
  • Perform re-work and re-boxing of damaged and defective items as needed in order to keep parts from sitting in MRB.
