About The Position

IPEX is a leading provider of advanced plastic piping systems in North America, focused on connecting people with water and energy. This role is based in their state-of-the-art extrusion plant facility in Mississauga, ON. The company seeks a Material Handler to measure, inspect, and package finished products for distribution. This position serves as a training role for Extrusion Operator Trainee and Blender Trainee, with on-the-job training provided, making prior experience not vital. Requirements

Completion of high school diploma or practical equivalent.
Knowledge of Health and Safety practices is necessary.
Good communication skills both written and verbal.
Must be flexible to work a bi-weekly rotating day and night shift schedule.

Nice To Haves

Experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset.
Experience with plastic extrusion is a strong asset.

Responsibilities

Operate mobile material handling equipment for packaging finished product into crates or bundles.
Identify processing problems on all equipment and report them to the Shift Supervisor.
Measure and record dimensional and physical properties of the product at predetermined intervals.
Maintain all material storage areas, scrap storage areas, and pipe storage areas in an orderly and clean manner.
Assist in the movement and setup of equipment into or out of production areas.
Assist in the startup of a production line and manufacture product to required specifications.
Build and pack pipe crates.
Perform a variety of other tasks as assigned.
