Requirements

  • Must be able to multitask and have good organizational skills.
  • High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others; promote a safe work environment.
  • Good math, language and reading skills; basic computer skills may be required.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively communicate with members of the paint team and other departments.
  • High School Diploma or GED; one to three months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos, as well as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information one-on-one to other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and may occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the paint department by performing various duties.
  • Safely operates industrial forklift truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products in the Paint Department.
  • Takes directions from Lead/Supervisor regarding jobs/pallets to be brought to the line.
  • Inspects parts per ISO standards and inspection paperwork requirements.
  • Works closely with lead and paint line supervisor regarding daily production requirements.
  • Pivots with changes in production requirements.
  • Completes daily forklift inspection reports.
  • Follows instructions and procedures for operating equipment and keeping records.
  • Executes assignments in an accurate, timely, and safe manner.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
  • Attaches identifying tags and labels to materials or marks information on cases.
  • Assists the Batch Lead or Leadsperson with any other duties as required.
  • Helps load and unload parts in a safe manner on racks or Batch conveyor.
  • Wears all proper PPE while working in batch.
  • Assembles and packs parts per job traveler.
  • Trains new personnel to work in a safe manner and to follow all instructions for processing parts that are on the job traveler.
