Material Handler

About The Position

JELD-WEN is hiring a Material Handler as part of its manufacturing team. Depending on assignment, the role supports warehouse and shipping operations by moving trailers and materials, inspecting incoming loads, verifying shipping documents, operating forklifts, preparing materials, and staging and packaging finished products for delivery. The position is on the second shift, from 1:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., and may require overtime to meet customer demands. Prior manufacturing or similar experience is preferred but not required. JELD-WEN is a global designer, manufacturer, and distributor of interior and exterior doors, windows, and related building products. Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly; team lift items exceeding 50 pounds.
Previous experience in a manufacturing or similar environment is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

Maneuver trucks within the parking lot.
Place empty trailers in docks from the yard, or move trailers from the yard to dock doors as directed and needed.
Inspect incoming loads.
Check shipping documents for correct customer information.
Operate propane and electric forklift vehicles (“hi-lo”).
Perform a start-of-shift preventative maintenance inspection.
Load semi-trucks and box trucks with required finished product.
Assist with inventory cycle counts as needed.
Prepare and handle materials.
Stage and package finished product for delivery.
Work overtime as needed to satisfy customer demands.
Perform other general warehouse duties as needed.
