Material Handler - 2nd Shift
About The Position
JELD-WEN is seeking a Material Handler to support its manufacturing and warehouse operations. Depending on assignment, this role handles material preparation, staging and packaging finished product, and loading and moving product for delivery. The position involves operating propane and electric forklifts, inspecting incoming loads, checking shipping documents, and carrying out general warehouse duties. The shift is second shift, 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Previous manufacturing or similar experience is preferred but not required. The role requires regularly lifting up to 50 pounds and occasionally team-lifting items over 50 pounds. Overtime may be needed to meet customer demands.
Requirements
- Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally team-lift anything exceeding 50 pounds.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or similar environment is preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities
- Maneuver trucks within the parking lot.
- Place empty trailers in docks from the yard, or move trailers from the yard to dock doors as directed.
- Inspect incoming loads.
- Check shipping documents for correct customer information.
- Operate propane and electric forklift vehicles (hi-los).
- Perform a preventative maintenance inspection at the start of each shift.
- Load semi-trucks and box trucks with required finished product.
- Assist with inventory cycle counts as needed.
- Prepare and handle materials.
- Stage and package finished product for delivery.
- Work overtime as needed to satisfy customer demands.
- Perform other general warehouse duties as needed.
