About The Position

This role involves performing packaging and float loading activities to optimize multiple loads for delivery coordination, as well as material handling and machine/equipment operation duties in a safe and efficient manner to fulfill customer orders and business requirements. The position ensures machine and equipment is operating properly and that orders are completed safely, accurately, timely, and without damage. Responsibilities include inspecting materials, products, machinery, tools, and equipment, assisting with inventory management activities including daily updates to the ERP system, and using required PPE. Routine preventive maintenance, adjustments, and lubrication on equipment and production tools are also part of the duties. The role requires operating forklifts and other powered industrial equipment safely, loading and unloading materials, transporting raw materials, WIP, and finished goods, and verifying materials against paperwork. Additionally, the Material Handler will stage materials for production, shipping, or storage, perform daily basic equipment inspections, report mechanical issues, follow all safety rules and OSHA requirements, maintain a clean work area, and assist with inventory counts and material audits as needed. Assistance in other areas/departments may also be assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain certification
  • Previous forklift or warehouse experience preferred
  • Ability to read work instructions, labels, and shipping documents
  • Strong attention to safety and accuracy
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing or warehouse environment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist
  • Must be able to work O/T and weekends on short notice.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Perform packaging and float loading activities to optimize multiple loads for delivery coordination.
  • Perform material handling and machine/equipment operation duties in a safe and efficient manner to fulfill customer orders and business requirements.
  • Ensure machine and equipment is operating properly.
  • Complete orders safely, accurately, timely and without damage.
  • Inspect materials, products, machinery, tools and equipment.
  • Assist with inventory management activities including daily updates to the ERP system.
  • Use of PPE as required (safety glasses, gloves, sleeves, steel/composite toe shoes).
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance, adjustments, and lubrication on equipment and production tools as required to maintain proper operation.
  • Operate forklifts and other powered industrial equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Load and unload materials from machines, trucks, trailers, and storage locations.
  • Transport raw materials, WIP, and finished goods to designated areas.
  • Verify materials against paperwork, labels, or system records.
  • Stage materials for production, shipping, or storage.
  • Perform Daily basic equipment inspections and report mechanical issues.
  • Follow all safety rules, traffic patterns, and OSHA requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Assist with inventory counts and material audits as needed.
  • Assist in other areas/departments as directed/assigned.
