About The Position

Facilitates all fulfillment center warehousing responsibilities including but not limited to receiving, inventorying, order picking, and shipping of all inbound and outbound material, products, and orders in an efficient and accurate manner.

Requirements

  • Work requires a high school level of knowledge to read, write, and speak English and to perform simple arithmetic calculations.
  • Needs to obtain and maintain a valid license from Gold Medal Bakery to operate powered industrial equipment.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and work well in a team as well as individually.
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOP) is required.
  • Must be able to understand and abide by safety rules and procedures.
  • Ability to read, speak and understand English
  • Must have ability to use a computerized system including, but not limited to, computers, tablets, and barcode scanners to ensure an accurate and digitized process by inputting and retrieving data as needed
  • Ability to visually inspect all points of contact with materials and products to ensure proper compliance with all necessary standards.
  • Ability to understand basic metric analysis and goals such as KPIs.
  • Must be capable of exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to push, pull, move, objects such as cases, pallets, trays, transport racks, and/or dollies.
  • Must be capable of moving up and down building stairways, ramps in multi-level plant to reach job assignments and perform tasks required in the warehousing process. Tasks require stooping, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking and hearing. Capable to reach seven (7) feet to handle palletizing, racks and trays of all inbound and outbound products.
  • Must have mental and visual ability to identify various products, codes, and labels, and to read sales orders and shipping documents is required. Colored sight is needed to distinguish colors for food safety and program parameters. Must be able to do basic math calculations to count, add, subtract, multiply and divide.
  • Performs repetitive tasks following simple instructions.
  • Work requires the ability to read, write and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to hear, understand and speak English for employee communications is preferred.
  • Must be capable of understanding complex instructions (verbally and in writing), documenting necessary information as needed, and reading notices and work schedules.
  • Memory skills are required for recall of numbers, following multi-step processes and directions, and doing mental arithmetic.
  • Must be able to work courteously and effectively with others, and to assist co-workers as required.

  • Prior warehousing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Follows all SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for position to safely complete all position requirements
  • Accountable for loading and unloading trucks with accuracy and precision, maintaining well-organized records of shipments, and always keeping your work area clean and tidy
  • Receive deliveries from internal and external suppliers and arrange them in an orderly manner for easy access and proper inventory rotation as needed per standard warehouse practices
  • Receive and inspect incoming inventory, verifying quantities and condition against purchase orders.
  • Conduct the processing of shipments for distribution, encompassing the digitalization, labeling, and loading onto transportation trailers
  • Utilize modern technologies including, but not limited to, computers, tablets, and barcode scanners to ensure an accurate and digitized process
  • Visual quality control checks on all outbound shipments as needed by monitoring for discrepancies, damages, labeling issues, etc. and reports any discrepancies to supervision
  • Responsible for palletizing all outbound orders on clean and in good shape transport equipment, such as pallets or transport racks, as needed for all outbound programs
  • Trains/retrains as required by company training guidelines (i.e., annual GMPT).
  • Assists other employees, when possible, in all tasks as needed and required by supervision
  • During periods of downtime, performs additional tasks as assigned by supervision
  • Notifies supervision of any equipment problems or safety hazards
  • Use of industrial equipment, including pallet jacks and forklifts, to move packages, pallets, etc. safely and efficiently
  • Aids in quality and sample requirements per business needs.

  • Every employee is responsible for ensuring the highest degree of food safety and producing a quality product by following the standard operating procedures and adhering to the quality control standards. Anything which negatively affects or potentially affects the quality of the product (including damaged or inferior ingredients and produced product) must immediately be resolved by the employee or brought to the attention of a Supervisor.
