About The Position

The Material Handler receives, stores, and distributes raw materials and supplies to designated staging areas. The role operates a forklift to handle inbound and outbound shipments, inspects materials, prepares materials for grinding, transports products and scrap, and maintains assigned work areas. Work is performed in a production environment, with safety and compliance as core requirements. Reasonable mandatory overtime may be required based on business needs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including frequently lifting or moving up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to safely perform the essential functions of the job.

Responsibilities

• Follow corporate and plant safety standards and applicable laws and regulations.
• Operate a forklift to unload inbound and outbound shipments.
• Visually inspect materials and report quality discrepancies.
• Prepare materials for the grinding process.
• Transport and store materials, finished products, and supplies in appropriate staging areas, and report locations for proper labeling.
• Transport scrapped materials from the production line to the grinder area.
• Maintain cleanliness of the ramp, dock, and compactor area.
• Keep the assigned work area clean and orderly and dispose of scrap material properly.
• Perform work in a manner that ensures the safety of yourself and other plant personnel.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
