About The Position

This role is crucial for receiving, filling, and shipping products accurately and efficiently, ensuring product availability and proper paperwork completion. Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • 0 – 1 year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Forklift certification required, or willingness to obtain on the job.
  • Ability to read, add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to work safely in all job tasks.
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, and maneuver large/heavy products or pieces of equipment while working within established safety guidelines.
  • Ability to follow instructions and procedures.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work.
  • Ability to attend to details.
  • Ability to work with others in a team-based environment.
  • Ability to complete routine paperwork.
  • Ability to utilize necessary technology to complete tasks, such as RF equipment and ERP software.
  • English proficiency (written and spoken) is a core requirement.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with a picker, forklift, RF scanner, and inventory management systems.
  • Knowledge of HVAC wholesale industry, principles, and practices.
  • Previous experience with OSHA and safety regulations and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Receiving, filling, and shipping products accurately and efficiently.
  • Ensuring all products are readily available to be filled and necessary paperwork is completed.
  • Operating power equipment (i.e. electric pallet, walkie rider, sit-down forklift) in a safe and efficient manner to locate, put away, stack, and move checked-in products to correct storage locations.
  • Stocking, filling bin boxes, facing cartons, checking for product mixing, and rotating product where needed.
  • Monitoring stock on shelves or bins and replenishing stock from reserves.
  • Maintaining control of products in reserve stock area or will call area.
  • Receiving product by unloading trucks using forklift, pallet jack, electric pallet jack, or by hand.
  • Ensuring shipments received are in good condition and accurate by inspecting freight for damage, verifying quantity ordered versus quantity received, checking all shipments against packing lists, and completing necessary paperwork.
  • Ensuring all required products have verified bar code labels and readable Johnstone stock numbers by scanning products, printing labels, resolving labeling discrepancies, and completing necessary paperwork.
  • Filling orders by picking products, packing items into cartons, stacking them in a manner that minimizes damage, entering items into scan gun, and completing necessary paperwork.
  • Documenting the shipment of hazardous materials by labeling cartons correctly and completing necessary paperwork.
  • Preparing orders by preparing trucks for shipments, palletizing and wrapping orders, loading pallets and pieces into trucks, placing packing list in last skid, and completing necessary paperwork.
  • Maintaining current accuracy and efficiency standards and following all standard operating procedures.
  • Participating in inventory cycle counts and other related projects.
  • Maintaining a safe work environment by working safely, following safety rules, maintaining equipment, and maintaining a clean work area.
  • Promptly reporting any safety or maintenance concerns to supervisors.
  • Wearing protective equipment according to company policies and procedures.
  • Accessing Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) as needed and when appropriate.
  • Maintaining required hazardous materials, forklift, and other internal and external certifications as needed.
  • Maintaining professional communications when interacting with customers and coworkers.
  • Treating all customers and coworkers with a helpful and courteous attitude.
  • Performing all other duties as assigned.
