The Material Handler will report to the Plant Supervisor. Miller Chemical takes pride in working as a team and has various job duties in this classification. The associate will be properly trained in each job duty. The Material Handler is an entry level position for associates without experience. All job duties can be performed with about 1-3 days of training.

  • Ability to read and interpret written information
  • Have good communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work quickly and complete the work in a timely manner to meet productivity standards.
  • Add input to improve productivity for all the job duties mentioned above
  • Need to demonstrate accuracy
  • Monitor own work and ensure quality, bag or machine speeds, etc.
  • Consistently be at work and at their work station in a timely manner during operational hours until proper relief arrives
  • Take responsibility for their own actions
  • Work well as a team with others
  • Follow company policies and procedures
  • Ability to apply common sense while using the equipment and materials properly
  • Basic Math skills; add and subtract
  • Follow instruction from others

  • Notify the Supervisor of any issues or concerns regarding equipment or disruption of the work flow
  • Ability to work overtime to meet company needs
  • Ability to adapt to change in the work environment
  • High School Diploma/GED

Responsibilities

  • Labeling/Stenciling-• Ability to proficiently stencil or hand label with self-adhesive labels for cartons, bottles and bags
  • Check Weighing-• Ability to read the weigh scale to make sure the product is within company standards
  • Bottle Packer-• Ability to lift and pack desired product at standard production rate
  • Bottle Labeler-• Ability to place bottles through bottle labeling machine at the standard production rate
  • Stacker-• Ability to stack bags, balers and cartons at the standard production rate
