About The Position

The Material Handler is responsible for using a light-duty forklift to safely and efficiently load/unload items onto containers, trucks, or railcars. This role also involves acting as a Rigger to guide crane and/or forklift operators using hand signals, ensuring loads are correctly tied down for safe transport, and using a pneumatic nail gun to build dunnage. The position requires packing orders, confirming counts accurately, performing handwritten paper transactions, pulling finished goods from inventory, and wearing appropriate PPE. The Material Handler must comply with all NOV Company, HSE, and Quality policies, guidelines, and procedures. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to work overtime and shift work as required to support business operations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Employee will be regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; talk or hear.
  • Standing, Walking, Bending/Stooping, and Push, Pull up to 10 hours daily.
  • Lifting weights up to 50 lbs. Regularly.
  • Repetitive Movement (shoveling/sweeping/fastening) up to 10 hours daily.

  • Complete NCCO Hand Signals and Rigging Course or certification on 25, 40 and 55 ton forklifts
  • Ability to adapt and be cross-trained to learn all job duties as required

  • Ability to read drawings, instructions or repair and assembly operations

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift experience preferred.
  • Microsoft Office experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities
