About The Position

The Material Handler position is responsible for grinding scrap from production machines. They are also responsible for forklift responsibilities including movement of both raw materials and finished products in a safe and efficient manner. This position may provide support to additional departments as business conditions dictate.

Requirements

• Basic skills: critical thinking and reading comprehension
• Must possess good communication/interpersonal skills and get along well with others
• Must be able to become tow motor certified through Growscape
• Must have the ability to lift at least 25 pounds
• Ability to work in a team-oriented work environment
• Ability to manage time well
• Excellent organization and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Grinds nonconforming product
• Assists with loading bins and color hoppers with materials specified on the work order/routing/schedule
• Ensures products comply with LPC color quality guidelines and expectations
• Assists Utility personnel as needed for forklift assistance
• Maintains housekeeping and as needed at the end of the shift
• Immediately informs shift/department crew leader of any issues
• Performs any other duties as requested by the shift/dept. crew supervisor
• Transports material or product using a tow motor
• May assist in wrapping skids using automated equipment
