Moves, loads, and unloads raw, in-process, finished goods, and supplies. Uses safe working practices and reports hazardous conditions at all times. Operates a fork truck to remove rolls or boxes to store in proper warehouse locations. Loads trucks with finished goods according to orders, using a fork truck, fork truck attachments, hand trucks, dollies, or manually as required. Unloads raw, in-process, packaging, or finished materials and supplies as directed and transports them to proper storage areas. Requires knowledge of two computerized systems for shipping product: a barcode system that translates scanned information into a detailed pack list, and the SAP System where the operator must enter to find customer and product information to be shipped. The operator must then enter data into the system and confirm for billing, being responsible for final billing information. Must be able to restart systems after a computer shutdown. Counts, verifies, and keeps records of materials loaded, unloaded, or transferred within the plant by computer or manually. Prepares material for shipment by packing, banding, stenciling, stretch wrapping, weighing, etc. Inspects mobile equipment prior to use and performs preventative maintenance work such as checking and filling with oil, water, fuel, etc. (must be able to lift fuel cylinder). Operates a power sweeper to clean designated areas. Sweeps and shovels materials as needed. Drives a truck or car to make pick-up deliveries on occasion. Keeps equipment and work area clean and orderly. Reports time and production as directed. Empties scrap containers into proper disposal containers as needed. Unloads scrap bales from the baler and stores them for scrap disposal. Other duties as assigned.
