About The Position

This is a contract position for a Material Handler at a Medical Device Company. The role involves processing customer orders, picking and packing, and palletizing products for shipment. The position requires adherence to safety, quality, and sanitation guidelines, as well as maintaining a clean work area. Cross-training in other warehouse positions may be required. The job is located in Sumter, SC, and is a 12-month contract position with a 40-hour work week. The shift is F shift, 8 PM - 8 AM, with a night shift premium of $1.50.

Requirements

  • High School diploma, GED or 1 year of relevant experience required.
  • Good verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks or projects.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced distribution environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret distribution documents.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • May be required to operate MHE and use Voice/RF scanner.
  • Ability to perform/operate in a metrics-driven environment.
  • Basic analytical, organizational and prioritization skills.
  • General distribution knowledge.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without accommodation.
  • US Citizens or GC Holders or GC EAD or OPT or EAD or CPT

  • Experience with Walkie Ryder (motorized Pallet Jack) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Pallet/Case Picking: Processing customer orders including scanning bar codes, picking and labeling boxes, picking and packing orders, and processing orders through RF technology.
  • Maintaining an acceptable work area as outlined in SOP and work instructions.
  • Responsible for following Good Documentation Practices (GDP) as outlined in SOP.
  • Completing all necessary RF device training to obtain the necessary profiles.
  • Responsible for accuracy verification and shipment packaging.
  • Pallet Build: Palletizing to include scanning, retrieving and placing completed orders on pallets, and re-palletizing products for shipment.
  • May be responsible for dock manifest duties which includes scanning completed pallets and running the shrink wrapper.
  • May be required to transport pallets by walking MHE.
  • Following all safety instructions to maintain safe working conditions and to adhere to proper operating practices and procedures designed to prevent injuries and illnesses.
  • May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
  • Adhering to attendance policies.
  • Maintaining current status in C2C training modules.
  • Understanding organizational quality goals.
  • Performing job activities in a safe and reasonable manner and in accordance with safety requirements.
  • Assisting in maintaining the security of the warehouse and conducting all activities in a manner that promotes a safe environment.
  • Reporting all injuries, accidents, unsafe acts, hazards or conditions immediately.
  • Reporting any suspicious persons or activity.
  • Maintaining a clean and professional image.
  • Ensuring the cleanliness of the facility by following guidelines.
  • Maintaining a clean, neat and orderly work area at all times.
  • Becoming knowledgeable with the responsibilities of other warehouse positions.
  • Assisting as required.
  • Acting as back up at times of absence or vacation.
