About The Position

Safety-Kleen Buffalo, New York is seeking a Material Handler to join their safety-conscious team! You will be responsible for completing all assigned duties in a safe and responsible manner. Work schedule during training is 8am - 4pm. Following training, work hours will be 2pm-10pm; must be available to work overtime as needed. Why work for Safety-Kleen? Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to work independently while managing time and productivity
  • Ability to perform physical functions per job requirements
  • Good communication skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Basic Math skills (needed to calculate volumes from Gauge readings for when loading and unloading tanks and trucks)
  • Ability to work with waste labels, manifests, and load sheets
  • Basic computer knowledge required
  • Must have active, valid driver's license

Nice To Haves

  • 1st or 2nd City of Buffalo Boiler engineer license is helpful but not necessary.
  • Forklift experience (Not Required but preferred; can train)
  • Experience with tankers (oil) loading and unloading, also will be sampling and unloading railcars (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Ensures Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and acting in a safe manner always.
  • Unload and reload bulk oil trucks and rail cars. (ladder climbing required)
  • Prepare loads for shipment to refineries.
  • General housekeeping
  • Assist with inventory (Oil, totes, drums)
  • Calculate volumes from gauge readings when loading and unloading tanks and trucks
  • Daily operation of yard vehicle
