Material Handler Picking + receiving 2nd shift
About The Position
Movu, part of stow Group, is a company with 10 manufacturing facilities, 19 commercial offices, and around 2000 employees serving customers in 40 countries. In early 2021, Movu opened its US Office in Adairsville, GA, and has grown to approximately 50 people. The warehouse of the future is equipped with autonomous robots, Atlas 2D pallet shuttles, or tote shuttles for high-density storage. The warehouse operator receives instructions from the supervisor or warehouse support regarding the loading schedule and organizes work according to priority, following oral and/or written instructions recorded in SharePoint.
Requirements
- Knowledge of warehouse layout and locations (Hall A & B, powder warehouse, picking area)
- Product knowledge
- Warehouse procedures
- Ability to use scanning equipment
- Ability to operate a pallet stacker
- Ability to estimate order volume to select appropriate packaging
- Knowledge of packaging requirements
- Forklift license (certification or authorization)
- Ability to use a scale
- Ability to replenish pick locations
Responsibilities
- Receives instructions from the supervisor or warehouse support regarding the loading schedule
- Organizes work according to priority, while following oral and/or written instructions (recorded in SharePoint)
- Follows scan/SAP instructions indicating replenishment needs
- Follows management instructions to improve work methods and prevent complaints or damages
- Gives instructions to order pickers and takes initiative to improve productivity and avoid complaints
- Checks prepared orders
- Stores completed orders in stock
- Ensures overseas packaging complies with required standards
- Adapts to changes in work priorities
- Maintains order and cleanliness and ensures regular cleaning by order pickers
- Respects environmental guidelines
- Ensures compliance with safety rules and monitors safety practices
- Reports all relevant information to supervisors to enable performance reporting to management by completing the end-of-shift report (documenting activities performed during the shift)
- Assists colleagues when needed
- Requests creation of new storage locations to avoid order splits
- Checks open transfer orders (TOs) daily to ensure orders are completed before loading begins
- Transmits location data to the supervisor to ensure correct master data updates
- Assists with inventory and cycle counting
- Ensures best practices among order pickers and proposes improvement initiatives
- Performs the same tasks as order pickers, according to their job description, when availability allows
- Conducts 5S audits according to instructions
