Material Handler
About The Position
This position involves following standard procedures for material handling, including receiving, shipping, and warehousing. The role requires performing all activities in accordance with safety and quality rules, and using appropriate equipment such as forklifts and tow trains to move materials. It also includes recording material movements in transactional systems like receipt and booking, and making proposals for improvements in safety, quality, and efficiency. Specific accreditation may be required for using certain on-site handling equipment.

Responsibilities
- Follow standard work for material handling (e.g. receiving, shipping, warehousing)
- Perform all activities in accordance with safety and quality rules
- Use adequate equipment (forklift, tow train) to move material
- Records movements of material in the transactional records systems (e.g. receipt, booking)
- Make proposals to improve safety, quality, efficiency
- Manage inbound material flow
- Monitor inbound delivery performance
- Receive, inspect, and store inbound deliveries
- Track product availability
- Pick, pack, and ship product for delivery
- Prepare package and shipment
- Manage shipping, carriers, and fleets
- Authorize and process returns
- Perform reverse logistics
- Perform salvage activities
- Manage and process warranty claims
- Locate stock
- Prepare stock for movement
- Physically move stock
- Maintain inventory status
- Perform physical inventory procedures
