About The Position

Precision Castparts Corp. is a worldwide, diversified manufacturer of complex metal components and products serving the aerospace, power generation, and general industrial markets. PCC Airfoils, LLC, a subsidiary, manufactures complex investment castings for turbine engine applications. The Material Handler in the Wax Department is responsible for ensuring Wax Dressers and Wax Assemblers have the necessary product at their workstations by providing materials and maintaining good housekeeping. This role requires adherence to safety guidelines, handling hazardous waste, and performing various material movement and preparation tasks.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year experience as an operator in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with misc. hand tools, tables, racks, boxes, safety guidelines, feeds, grinders, inspection tools, etc.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred, and may be substituted by experience.
  • Able to meet deadlines and be accountable for quality/quantity.
  • Able to work flexible hours with a history of dependability as demonstrated with strong attendance record.
  • Comfortable using a team approach to problem solving.
  • Have a strong sense of urgency.
  • Must be a motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently.
  • Must pass Jaeger vision test.
  • Ability to handle high stress associated with high activity with tight deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous casting experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Keep Wax Dressers and Wax Assemblers supplied with product at their workstations.
  • Maintain good housekeeping in the work area.
  • Handle hazardous waste in accordance with Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) and company policy.
  • Move and wash molds.
  • Coordinate special lot movement through the Department.
  • Keep jigs in jig room storage when not in use.
  • Prepare set-up trays for wax assemblers with molds and runners.
  • Put racks, trays, foams, supplies, and equipment away.
  • Make set-ups at sub-assembly.
  • Perform component injection (substitute).
  • Perform second dress with patterns.
  • Perform other duties as designated by the supervisor.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, clients, co-workers and supervisors.
  • Keep work area clean, orderly, and in a safe working condition.
  • Follow all safety rules.
  • Perform any and all additional responsibilities as required or assigned.
