Material Handler 1st Shift
About The Position
Kinsley Steel is seeking a full-time Material Handler for its 1st shift operations. This role is crucial in the production process, involving the preparation of structural steel and assisting with loading and unloading steel from trucks. The position offers the opportunity to work on challenging projects within a dynamic team, contributing to the company's success since 1985 in delivering high-quality steel. Kinsley Steel specializes in structural steel design, engineering, detailing, fabrication, erection, and retrofit. As a Material Handler, you will play a vital role in supporting the fabrication shop's operations.
Requirements
- 2-3 years experience with using overhead cranes
- Experience using and operation a forklift is required
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by functioning and communicating in an effective manner with co-workers, clients, and supervisors
- Works in compliance with Kinsley's safety policies and procedures
- Must be able to work overtime and Saturdays as needed
- Basic math skills are required
- Must be able to tolerate hot and cold working environment
- Must be able to stand on feet for up to 10 hours
- Must be organized and can multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Responsibilities
- Operate forklift as needed
- Perform rigging work including jacking and staking
- Load and unload steel from trucks
- Load steel to transfer tables to feed production line
- Perform other duties as required to support the fabrication shop
