About The Position

The Material Handler is responsible for supporting daily warehouse and inventory operations to ensure accurate receipt, storage, movement, and shipment of materials and products. This position plays a critical role in maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting production through work order kitting, and ensuring timely shipping and receiving activities. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to read work orders, packing slips, shipping documents, and inventory reports.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand/walk for extended periods.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills for documentation, intra-team, and interdisciplinary communication
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documentation
  • Ability to analyze problems using scientific and logical thinking
  • Possess strong organizational and detail-oriented skills
  • Ability to multi-task effectively
  • Computer, phone, photocopiers, and fax machines
  • Basic computer operating systems
  • Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Project)

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, or inventory control preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or production environment preferred.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems such as Deltek Costpoint or similar inventory systems preferred.
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification preferred.
  • Understanding of inventory control principles and warehouse best practices.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.
  • Strong sense of accountability and reliability.
  • Proactive problem-solving mindset.
  • Ability to support fast-paced operations while maintaining accuracy and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks as required.
  • Assist with receiving inspections and non-conforming material segregation when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, quality standards, and inventory control processes.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to warehouse and inventory operations.
