About The Position

The Material Handler supports material needs/requirements for CAR-T production per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in controlled and/or classified environments under the supervision of Warehousing Operations Management. Material Handlers must adhere to regulatory requirements while performing job functions. Job duties are performed within a team according to an assigned, production shift schedule. Communication and reporting of production deviations and assistance with quality investigations are required, as applicable. The available shift is Sunday-Wednesday, Onsite Day Shift, 6:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Requirements

  • Able to lift up to 60 lbs at knee/waist height and 30 lbs to shoulder height using proper body mechanics; push/pull materials requiring up to 60 lbs of force.
  • Able to operate material‑handling equipment (manual and powered pallet jacks, forklifts, pallet exchangers, stretch wrappers and department vehicles for intra-site material delivery) per training and authorization.
  • Able to perform repetitive tasks, prolonged standing, bending, and reaching.
  • Able to safely handle chemical disinfectants, flammable materials, and hazardous chemicals.
  • Able to handle dry ice and frozen materials, access ultra‑low freezers (‑80°C) and work in a cold‑room environments (2–8°C).
  • Ability to independently don, doff, and wear required PPE during work shift including sterile scrubs, gloves, safety shoes, and safety glasses (kitting/dispensary) or safety shoes and cut‑resistant gloves (non‑kitting).
  • Ability to use step stools to reach and handle materials.
  • Must have the ability to work around laboratories and controlled, enclosed, restricted areas.
  • Cleanroom garments and personal protective equipment are required in designated areas which cover head, parts of the face, core body, and legs/feet.
  • Makeup, gum, nail polish, or other potential microbial sources are prohibited in restricted areas.
  • Clean room environment is an enclosed, restricted space, with assigned pressure and temperature conditions.
  • Reagents, chemicals, and exposure to sanitization agents are expected.
  • Designated areas may prohibit food, any outside materials such as cell phones, tablets, at a minimum.
  • Physical dexterity sufficient to use computers, handheld devices and documentation.
  • Sufficient vision and hearing capability to work in job environment.
  • Knowledge of cGMP/FDA regulated industry.
  • Knowledge of ERP EWM Systems.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • General understanding of cGMPs.
  • Technical writing capability.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications.
  • Inventory control and/or management.
  • Bachelor’s degree OR Associate/ Medical Technical degree and 0-2 years of Manufacturing or Operations experience.
  • OR High School diploma/GED and 2-4 years of Manufacturing or Operations experience.

Responsibilities

  • Performs inventory control: cycle counts, material stocking and replenishment, scrapping, at a minimum.
  • Support material expiry, segregation, allocation, and maintains material condition requirements.
  • Quantifies and maintains materials in production dispensary.
  • Support timing of replenishment needs according to the production schedule to ensure on-time logistics.
  • Records material handling data and information in a clear, concise, format according to proper GDPs.
  • Performs inspection and receipt of incoming raw materials and components in coordination with defined specifications and in collaboration with Incoming Quality Control.
  • Prioritize kit production and verification based on demand from the production schedule to ensure on-time logistics in support of manufacturing operations.
  • Perform material transactions using ERP system to systematically capture material movements and run inventory / transactional reports.
  • Provide material cleaning, kit production, and kit verification support in CNC and Iso 8 Grade C environments.
  • Support room / equipment cleaning using powered air-purifying respirators (PAPR certified).
  • Report safety incidents, near miss, good catches at time of occurrence.
  • Support and conduct daily safety area inspections and walkthroughs.
  • Works in a team based, cross-functional environment to complete warehousing tasks required by shift schedule.
  • Must be able to work in an environment with blood derived components.
  • Other duties may be assigned, as necessary.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned.
  • Available to work OT when business requires.
  • Willing to work staggered day shift hours.
