Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in the operation of a forklift (experience in a manufacturing environment).
  • Ability to read/write in English; capable of acting to written or verbal instruction.
  • Basic understanding of math concepts to complete reporting requirements.
  • Possess basic computer skills for use of systems: BPCS, TWI.
  • Ability to operate powered material handling equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge in Inventory control preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of the BPCS or any related inventory management system preferred.
  • Knowledge of warehousing and warehouse procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Moving and storing materials, supplies, and products throughout the facility in a safe and controlled manner.
  • Loading and unloading trucks, trailers and railcars.
  • Monitoring and maintaining inventory accuracy.
  • Working safely at all times, adhering to safe work practice policies and procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Separating and palletizing finished goods coming from the sealing station to the transfer trailer.
  • Maintaining daily forklift check list.
  • Supplying the production floor with materials and supplies to work stations.
  • Filling orders of end board and ring stock from the in-process area.
  • Putting away and retrieving material.
  • Pulling orders from Nestyle blanks rack area.
  • Participating in group problem solving and special projects.
  • Working with Planning for daily work schedule.
  • Training other employees in all areas of warehouse operation.
  • Understanding internal and external customer needs.
  • Maintaining department cleanliness to SQF (Safe Quality Food) standards.
  • Performing weekly cycle counts.
  • Entering data into BPCS, Transition Works.
  • Providing relief for sealing station when needed.
  • Driving forklifts in the operation of their work.
  • Carrying out environmental compliance tasks, as appropriate to the position.
