About The Position

The primary purpose of the Material Handler position is to help facilitate quality orders that are shipped on time by loading, unloading, kitting, and moving materials within or near plant, yard, or work site.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

Meets regular and reliable work-site attendance requirements in order to perform the job and meet productivity standards.
Reads traveler or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
Loads materials into vehicles or pallets and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated area.
Operates forklift/electric pallet jack to load truck, and to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
Performs kitting function for work cells in designated area.
Ensuring floors and isle ways are free of excessive debris, loose materials, and ensuring materials are stored in designated areas.
Participates and works within ISO 9001 quality standards guidelines in accordance with Contec’s quality goals.
Others may be assigned.
