About The Position

The Material Handler position at the Erie Plant is responsible for ensuring the timely delivery of materials, packaging finished goods, handling operation scrap, and participating in shop floor management. This role requires adherence to safety regulations and plant rules, and the ability to perform various operational duties.

Requirements

High School Diploma
Read, write and speak English
Experience / proven ability within operations
Be capable of using basic mathematics.
Be trained in and understand safety and efficiently perform the operations in this job description.
Perform those duties that it may; from time to time, be necessary to change or add to the Job.
Must have active forklift license.

Responsibilities

Ensure the timely delivery of packaging and raw materials to maintain continuous operation of equipment.
Stage materials in the designated area around the appropriate machine in an orderly fashion.
Load cartons and bags to ensure supply of finished goods cartons.
Preparation of any special materials that may require manual mixing.
Packaging of finished products and building palletized loads to customers specifications.
Monitoring and operation of automated packaging equipment to ensure proper performance.
Applying appropriate labels of packaging slips for product identification.
Removal of finished goods pallets to warehouse staging area.
Labeling and removal process generated scrap to appropriate area.
Grinding of plastic components for the purpose of materials reuse.
Participate in daily team meeting.
Contribute / implement ideas to improve operations performances.
Perform miscellaneous projects and data collection tasks.
Perform other related duties as required.
