About The Position

The objective of this role is to transfer material manually by hand, or by utilizing a manual pallet jack or a lifting device attached to a hoist. The Material Handler will operate sit down, stand up, and high-reach lifts. This position requires the ability to follow established methods and procedures, perform work accordingly, and work rapidly under time pressure for extended periods. Communication skills with supervisors and fellow workers, both written and verbal, at a level normally acquired through high school completion or equivalent are necessary.

  • Experience: 0-2 years
  • The ability to communicate with supervisors and fellow workers in both written and verbal forms at a level normally acquired through the completion of high school or equivalent is required.

Responsibilities

  • Unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting device attached to hoist.
  • Loads or unloads materials onto or off of pallets, skids or lifting device by hand as needed.
  • Loads parts manually from racks, tubs, and/or bins in warehouse to trays or racks kit carts.
  • Follows set route through department to load kit carts.
  • Loads and unloads parts manually from paint line.
  • Maintains safety checks on necessary equipment.
  • Performs duties in a safe, efficient manner in compliance with safety rules and regulations.
  • Uses electronic scanner to transact material as needed.
  • Keeps aisles clean and orderly.
  • Assists in the instruction and training of others as requested by supervisor.
  • Completes preventative maintenance and other duties as directed by Total Production Maintenance.
  • Perform other non-essential duties as assigned by management.
