About The Position

Community Impact Newspaper is seeking a hands-on, hard-working, detail-oriented professional to join their team. The Material Handler ensures Community Impact Printing’s success by moving supplies, setting up equipment, and ensuring a clean, safe, and orderly environment.

Requirements

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to read and interpret labels and/or other printed materials
  • Available to work 10—30 hours per week, as needed, during 1st shift hours (6 AM - 2:30 PM, M-F)

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to work occasional weekends or variable shifts based on business needs
  • 1 or more years of experience in a printing/manufacturing environment
  • Basic computer skills

Responsibilities

  • Lift, move, and stack materials by hand and by use of hand-jacks, forklifts, clamp-lifts, etc.
  • Perform housekeeping tasks such as sweeping, mopping, wiping, and vacuuming oil, ink, paper and dust from floors, walls and machinery
  • Perform routine maintenance such as clearing jams and restarting machines
  • Maintain knowledge of quality control procedures
  • Collect and inspect random samples to identify defects or errors
  • Ensure area readiness
