About The Position

Responsible for storing and issuing merchandise. This role involves placing incoming merchandise in the proper location, inspecting outgoing merchandise for accuracy and quality, and issuing the correct amount of merchandise ordered on requisitions. The Material Handler will also advise the lead clerk of out-of-stock items and quantity discrepancies, and deliver merchandise to requesting departments in a timely and professional manner. Additionally, the role requires returning pallets and milk crafts to the warehouse, offloading merchandise from service elevators, and returning all warehouse equipment to its proper location. Reporting safety or OSHA violations to the Lead Warehouse Clerk/Supervisor and maintaining a clean and orderly work environment are key aspects of this position. The employee is expected to exemplify the company's core values, family-style service, mission, vision, and DEI culture. Other job-related duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Ability to perform basic math
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with fellow employees and staff
General knowledge of warehouse procedures
Understand and comply with all company and departmental rules and regulations, policies and procedures.
Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
Requires coordination, the ability to follow instructions, memorization, independent judgment and decision-making skills
High School diploma or equivalent
Requires normal sense of touch and sound
Requires near/far visual acuity and field of vision, and the ability to distinguish letters and symbols, simple reading, writing
Requires math skills and performance of simple tasks
Must have the ability to provide internal/ external guests with service excellence, have excellent communication skills and observation skills, and have an easygoing demeanor to ensure a fun and safe environment for our guests.
Above average speech – both speaking and reading/writing English.
Need excellent interpersonal skills.

Use of equipment such as electric pallet jacks, manual pallet jacks, carts and hand trucks
Frequent standing, walking, repetitive use of both hands to include firm/strong grasping, and finger manipulation.
