About The Position
Lakeside Book Company is seeking a Seasonal Weekend Material Handler for their Distribution Center. This role offers overtime opportunities during the summer months, with mandatory hours and overtime expected from June through September. There is a possibility of full-time employment after the seasonal period. The company emphasizes a team-winning culture and a mission to keep the world reading. This is a seasonal role, not eligible for benefits, and is expected to last through the facility’s peak season, with potential for slight extension or earlier end depending on business needs.
Requirements
- Previous warehouse, distribution, or logistics experience - required
- Basic computer skills needed to accurately scan, sort, and process products
- Proven success working in fast-paced, high-demand seasonal periods
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift throughout duration of 8 to 10-hour shift
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (written and verbal) to be able to collaborate with team members and follow direction from leadership
Responsibilities
- Receive and verify incoming shipments for accuracy and quality
- Sort and organize materials for stowing and usage
- Assist with inventory management as requested
- Other duties as assigned
- Adherence to all safety policies – steel toe shoes required
