About The Position

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Material Handler (1st shift). The hourly rate for this position is $18.40 per hour. CORE HOURS: 5:30AM - 4PM. This role involves using forklifts or power equipment to move and store materials, parts, or products. Responsibilities include unloading incoming materials, transporting items between staging and storage areas, storing and stacking materials, and maintaining related documentation. The position may also involve operating overhead cranes (for certified associates), verifying received items against purchase orders, inspecting for damages or shortages, and processing internal Kanban cards to order and replenish materials. The Material Handler will also be responsible for receiving Purchase Orders in the system, separating AML material, sorting and dispersing return material, unloading trucks, and pulling parts for delivery while ensuring proper packaging standards are met.

Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • Ability to obtain forklift certification
  • Ability to use computer systems for the input and tracking of materials.
  • Candidates must reside within a 50 - mile radius of Fayetteville, NC will be considered. Active - Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience in material handling in a manufacturing setting
  • Experience with forklift operation in either a standup or sit-down capacity

Responsibilities

  • Use forklift or power equipment to move and store a variety of materials, parts or products.
  • Unload incoming materials from trailers and vehicles.
  • Transport items from incoming staging area or from finished goods staging area to storage area.
  • Store, stack, and arrange material and maintain related documentation.
  • Operate overhead crane or hoist in moving of material (crane certified associates only).
  • Verify, identify and quantify items received against purchase order.
  • Visually inspect and count items / incoming parts, materials and supplies to detect shortages, damages in transit, broken packages and obvious defects.
  • Complete related documentation.
  • Move or expedite material to proper department.
  • Pull material and package for delivery to Service Centers.
  • Use KanBan system to order and replenish materials.
  • Visually inspect for damaged material.
  • Safely and efficiently deliver materials as needed to storeroom locations, or POU locations.
  • Notify internal customers of receipts / product marked to their attention.
  • Maintain working relationship with internal customers.
  • Receive P.O.’s in system.
  • Separate AML material from non-AML. (Kanban)
  • Sort and disperse return material.
  • Maintain all documentation accordingly.
  • Unload trucks and check freight bills accordingly.
  • Verify material against packing list.
  • Pull parts from Storeroom if needed in Service Center packing.
  • Ensure packaging is to standard to prevent loss or damage to product.
  • Process internal Kanban cards.
  • Assist in the maintenance of the Kanban system.
  • Ensure compliance where applicable with systems and/or programs such as, but not limited to ISO 9000-2000, ISO 14001, Underwriters Laboratory, NEMA, etc.
  • Participate in and demonstrate understanding of other programs such as Eaton Business System (EBS), Eaton Safety Process (ESP), etc.
  • Know and follow established job specific and facility wide health and safety procedures and rules.
  • Bring health and safety issues, unsafe acts and safety suggestions to management's attention or correct those they can.
  • Actively participate in accident, injury and illness prevention activities.
  • Develop job safety analysis and safe working procedures.
  • Identify and correct hazards and unsafe conditions.
  • Participate in accident, near-miss accident or potential hazard investigations.
  • Keep other employees aware of health and safety practices and activities by actively observing fellow employee work practices and incorporating safety.
  • Maintain 5S and housekeeping in work area.
  • Maintain health and safety equipment in good working order.
  • Actively participate in health and safety training and demonstrate competency based on training received.
  • Participate actively in providing suggestions for the health and safety program improvement.
  • Know and implement regulatory compliance requirements in their work area.
