About The Position

The Material Handler is responsible for receiving products from vendor deliveries, unloading trucks, comparing packing lists to purchase orders, inspecting deliveries, reporting damages or shortages, and processing returns. This role also involves organizing and storing received items, matching shipments to purchase orders, and entering receiving data. The position requires maintaining a safe and clean working environment and necessitates excellent organizational skills. The employee will work with their hands and need to be able to lift or hold heavy items. Other duties may be assigned by a Manager or Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Receive products from vendor deliveries and unload trucks at the docks
• Compare packing lists to company purchase orders and ensure that the products in each delivery match the packing list
• Inspect deliveries, report damages or shortages to the appropriate person, and process returns for incorrect or unsatisfactory items
• Organize and store received items in appropriate areas
• Match shipments to their associated purchase orders and enter receiving data on paperwork
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
• Use a computer, with or without reasonable accommodation, including the use of a keyboard to type or through a speech to text application
