About The Position

Nortek Data Center Cooling, a Madison Industries company, is seeking a Material Handler I for its Data Center Cooling division. This role is crucial for receiving and moving materials, expediting operations, and reporting issues within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The Material Handler will support Lean Business Enterprise initiatives for continuous process improvement and waste elimination, handling both raw and finished goods for Fabrication/Weld. This includes loading and unloading materials from trucks, using computer systems to track materials, and assisting other operators. The company is a premier HVAC provider focused on energy-efficient and sustainable products, aiming to create a better tomorrow every day.

Requirements

High School graduate or GED equivalent.
3-5 years’ work experience in warehousing within the manufacturing industry.
Acceptable MVR for forklift certification.
Must always have the ability to wear all required PPE.
Must be able to stand, sit, bend and twist for 10 hours a day.
Ability to operate forklift equipment once properly certified.
Demonstrate proficiency with MS Office Suite, specifically Excel.
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
Must be detail oriented, self-motivated, anticipate work to be done, work with minimum supervision and have strong follow-up skills.
Must have proven ability to work as a member of a team.

Responsibilities

Receives material requests from various sources and prepares for production.
Puts away all incoming freight and product returns.
Expedites operations that delay schedules, such as scrap, rework, or missing materials, and communicates these issues with department leads.
Reports shortages with vendor-supplied components.
Assists with inventory accuracy projects.
Uses tablets, scanners, printers, and computers.
Performs cycle counting and corrects product locations.
Operates forklift equipment once properly certified.
Maintains an attitude that consistently represents the organizational culture, including the mission, vision, and core attributes.
Demonstrates ability to be a team player.
Performs other ad hoc duties as assigned by the manager.
Supports Lean Business Enterprise initiatives for continuous process improvement and waste elimination.
Moves raw and finished goods for Fabrication/Weld.
Loads and unloads material on trucks.
Moves material in the computer system.
Assists other operators in the area with daily production-related work.
