Full Time Material Handler

About The Position

The Material Handler contributes to the distribution of Columbia Sportswear Company products from its Distribution Center, ensuring products are received, labeled, inventoried, and shipped according to customer expectations and demands. The role handles materials within a warehouse or storage facility and uses appropriate equipment to move goods within the facility or to and from aircraft, trucks, or trains. The position also supports accurate order preparation, packing, and shipping, and maintains communication with management, staff, and other departments to help ensure efficient operations.

Responsibilities

Load and unload material within a warehouse or storage facility.
Use hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, conveyors, or other handling equipment to move material within the facility or to and from aircraft, trucks, or trains.
Receive incoming products and affix proper labeling.
Make boxes according to pick labels, load them on carts, and pick products into the appropriate boxes.
Unload cases from pick carts and verify packing accuracy.
Seal cartons and send them to shipping.
Dispose of empty cartons.
Use the Warehouse Management System (WMS) accurately and attentively to maintain accountability for all units.
Operate manual or automated material handling equipment, which may include forklifts, pallet jacks, and order pickers.
Maintain positive, open communication with Columbia Sportswear management, staff, and other departments to support smooth information flow and efficient operations.
