About The Position

This role is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of a manufacturing facility by ensuring the efficient flow of materials. The Material Handler will pick, deliver, and manage parts and materials within the stockroom, warehouse, and production areas. This position requires attention to detail, the ability to follow instructions, and a commitment to safety and organization. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, organized, detail-oriented, and willing to learn. Experience in every aspect of material handling is not required, and candidates from various backgrounds such as warehouse operations, manufacturing, shipping and receiving, forklift operation, inventory, logistics, or material handling are encouraged to apply.   • Must become certified in forklift operation through Vollrath and safely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment as required.
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license and good driving record when required to operate company vehicles.
  • Experience in material handling, warehouse or stockroom operations, manufacturing or production, shipping and receiving, forklift operation, inventory control, parts distribution, logistics, delivery or transportation, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Pick parts and materials from the stockroom or warehouse based on production needs, work orders, pull lists, or other instructions.
  • Deliver and transport parts and materials to designated production and company areas in a timely manner.
  • Maintain proper material and inventory flow to help prevent shortages and production delays.
  • Monitor material levels and proactively replenish production areas as needed.
  • Ensure accuracy of picked materials, including part numbers, descriptions, and quantities.
  • Receive, store, organize, package, and distribute materials as required.
  • Select appropriate storage locations and accurately place materials into stock.
  • Locate parts and materials using job packets, locator files, sales orders, computer terminals, inventory records, and other stockroom information.
  • Issue or deliver materials to production and communicate shortages, discrepancies, or questionable items to the appropriate personnel.
  • Load and unload commercial and company vehicles.
  • Perform efficient interdepartmental material handling and transportation.
  • Prepare and package materials and equipment for shipment.
  • Accurately complete and maintain stockroom, inventory, shipping, receiving, and other required records.
  • Assist with physical inventory activities.
  • Assist with MRO requisitioning and other material-related processes as assigned.
  • Inspect RGA material and complete required documentation and processing when applicable.
  • Follow established procedures for the receiving, storage, handling, and shipment of hazardous materials.
  • Retrieve customer and supplier certifications from designated company systems when required.
  • Drive company vehicles to make pickups and deliveries when required.
  • Work independently and provide direction or assistance when working at remote storage facilities.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Communicate effectively with team leaders, supervisors, production employees, and other departments regarding material needs or issues.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
  • Perform other duties and activities as assigned.
