About The Position

Boise Cascade is hiring a Material Handler (Forklift Operator) to receive, select, load, and verify materials and orders in a warehouse and yard environment. The role includes safely operating a forklift, providing basic customer service, collaborating with team members, maintaining a clean work area, following OSHA-compliant safety procedures, and completing daily forklift safety checks. The work is physically demanding and takes place outdoors in all weather conditions. Additional duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or at least 2 years of equivalent experience.
• Ability to understand and follow safety and work instructions.
• Comfort with physical work in all weather conditions.
• Ability to use hand tools and a chainsaw.

Nice To Haves

• Forklift experience, specifically with sit-down/counterbalance forklifts.
• Familiarity with building materials.
• Ability to measure and calculate material lengths.

Responsibilities

• Receive, select, and load materials.
• Operate a forklift safely and efficiently.
• Verify order accuracy after packaging and loading.
• Provide basic customer service to internal and external customers.
• Work with team members to fulfill orders and complete daily tasks.
• Maintain a clean working area.
• Follow all safety procedures, including OSHA compliance.
• Perform daily safety checks on forklifts.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
