About The Position

The Material Handler is responsible for receiving merchandise, pulling and issuing supplies from inventory, staging materials for shipping, loading delivery vehicles, operating warehouse equipment, performing routine maintenance, learning and using inventory management systems, assisting with inventory, and maintaining regular attendance. This role requires physical ability to perform demanding tasks in various environmental conditions.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Ability to speak, read and understand the English language.
Perform counting and mathematical skills.
Physically able to perform assigned duties.
Physically able to work in a non-air-conditioned environment.
Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.

Nice To Haves

Clear and valid Texas Driver's License (Class B, CDL with air brake endorsement) and acceptable driving record as determined by the Texas School Bus Driver's requirements.
Warehouse or distribution center experience with a working knowledge of warehouse terms.
Experience in the operation of standard warehouse equipment.

Responsibilities

Receive merchandise utilizing receiving tickets, purchase orders and bills of lading.
Pull and issue supplies and materials from inventory by requisition.
Stage these materials by packaging items to make them ready for shipping inclusive of sorting, wrapping, packaging and labeling orders.
Load delivery vehicles according to scheduled routing.
Operate forklift, pallet moving and other standard warehousing equipment safely.
Perform routine maintenance to warehouse equipment and notify the supervisor of contract repairs needed or safety concerns of equipment performance.
Learn and use the Cypress-Fairbanks ISD electronic purchasing and inventory management systems as it relates to the material handler functions.
Assist in the weekly inventory process.
Support the Distribution Center with regular and reliable attendance.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Distribution Center Manager or his designee.
