As a Material Handler at SPX, you will play a key role in ensuring on-time customer delivery. This is a full-time day shift position, Monday through Friday, from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with occasional Saturdays required.

Requirements

  • 1 year experience in shipping/manufacturing environment
  • 1 year experience certified Fork truck
  • High school diploma, or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety rules and adhere to core value of business.
  • Maintain clean, orderly work areas and equipment.
  • Report repairs and/or issues to team lead or supervisor.
  • Transport materials to and from loading docks, delivery trucks, and storage areas.
  • Collect and properly dispose scrap, cardboard, and strapping.
  • Prepare finished goods for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product.
  • Complete transport of finished goods (manually and/or using hand trucks and skids).
  • Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections and making operator repairs.
  • Maintains inventory by identifying, labelling, and keeping materials and supplies in stock, recording location of inventory, and reporting shortages.
  • Review orders for quality and accuracy.
  • Confirm documents, shipping details or special instructions are complete and accurate.
  • Follow processes for expedite shipments affecting the production schedule.
  • Desire to do the right thing
  • Team player, assisting other team members and departments as needed with other duties not routine to position
  • Punctual, on time, ready to work, every day
