About The Position

The Material Handler is an hourly position responsible for operating a lift truck and handling the receipt, inspection, storage, movement, and shipment of materials and products. The role receives and evaluates incoming materials, records transactions in a computer-based system, moves finished products to the shipping dock, prepares UPS shipments, and maintains warehouse housekeeping and material rotation standards. The position reports to the Plant Manager and requires following applicable safety, food safety, and other company procedures.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Effective verbal, written, listening, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to work well with others in the company.
Self-directed with a great attitude.
Ability to work off shifts, weekends, and holidays if required.

Responsibilities

Operate (drive) a lift truck.
Receive incoming materials in accordance with receiving and safety procedures.
Inspect and evaluate the quality of incoming materials and report findings in a computer-based system.
Locate and store materials and enter receipt transactions into a computer-based system.
Locate and transfer finished products from storage to the shipping dock.
Enter customer shipments and warehouse transfers into the computer-based tracking system.
Maintain housekeeping standards in warehouse areas.
Rotate raw materials.
Prepare UPS shipments.
Understand and follow all standards, food safety policies, and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
