About The Position

The Material Handler is responsible for supply management and ensuring all parts and supplies needed for production are maintained. This role involves receiving shipments, managing inventory, ordering parts, coordinating pickups, and maintaining the organization of the shipping area and storage pods. Additionally, the Material Handler will assist in production needs when necessary, handle snow removal, maintain pallet organization, monitor welding tank levels, and perform daily shop clean-up tasks.

Requirements

Knowledge of Microsoft office products, Word and Excel a must.
Good organizational skills.
Able to multi-task.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Knowledge and experience with hand and power tools.
Forklift Certification or experience.
Proven experience in material handling or a related environment.
Strong attendance record.
Above-average computer proficiency.
Willingness to work overtime and participate in inventory activities as needed.
Ability to pass forklift certification and operate equipment safely.
Capable of lifting 35 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
Ability to read and interpret production documents such as schedules, drawings, and orders.
Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

Receive incoming shipments and document in CMI Excel Receiving Log.
Handle damaged parts upon arrival as required.
Order parts daily as requested while maintaining inventory of stock.
Coordinate local parts pick up as required.
Minimize individual runs based on needs.
Keep proper documentation and file paperwork for billing and records.
Maintain overall upkeep and organization of the shipping area and exterior storage pods.
Process RMA returns as needed.
Assist in varying production needs as required.
Perform snow removal/salt spreading when needed.
Maintain left over pallet organization/discard.
Manage forklift maintenance schedule and daily upkeep.
Monitor LP and welding tanks for usage and order as needed.
Perform daily shop clean up, including emptying trash, sweeping floors, and organizing bins.
