About The Position

This is a full-time Material Handler position with a pay rate of $22.4400 per hour. The shift is from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. The role involves the safe and efficient operation of power-operated equipment, movement of product including loading and unloading trucks, and accurate picking and packing of items for shipment. The position requires maintaining warehouse order, restocking items, updating the Warehouse Management System, performing safety checklists, and assisting with freight courier scheduling and inventory counts. The Material Handler will also assist team members, communicate issues to supervisors, participate in process improvement, and maintain a clean and safe work area, adhering to corporate quality, health, and safety standards, including ISO standards where applicable.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Previous warehouse/manufacturing experience required
  • Current forklift certification and/or ability to become certified within a 30-day period required
  • Basic math and reading skills
  • Must be able to read and understand written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to pay attention to detail to ensure accuracy
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to lift/move up to 40 pounds solo and greater weights in a team-lift environment
  • Physical requirements include: lifting, carrying, bending, stretching, and standing for long periods of time, ability to handle heights

Responsibilities

  • Safe and efficient operation of all power-operated equipment that requires certification
  • Safe and efficient movement of Product (Including loading and unloading trucks)
  • Accurately pick and pack items for shipment potentially with a forklift
  • Label and prepare items for shipment
  • Work with Inventory Control on correct product placement
  • Complete required paperwork and project time-tracking documentation
  • Maintain warehouse order to ensure pallet locations are kept available for incoming items
  • Ensure all items not required short term are restocked according to established procedures
  • Update Warehouse Management System with the transaction
  • Performs daily safety checklist and standard battery charging procedure
  • Assist with contacting freight couriers to schedule pick-ups and deliveries
  • Assist in cycle counting and periodic inventories
  • Assist team members in meeting and exceeding customer expectations
  • Update supervisor and team lead on issues or concerns
  • Participate in process Improvement by communicating to supervisor and/or team lead
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Support and maintain corporate quality, health and safety standards, processes, policies, practices and work instructions (ISO standards where applicable)
  • All other duties as assigned
