About The Position

The primary responsibility of the Material Handler - Yard is to distribute production materials to their appropriate work areas, have awareness of inventory levels and communicate needs to production management, and support finished product preparedness for distribution. The applicant should display a positive and proactive attitude, strong organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize. The ideal candidate will have the ability to utilize critical thinking skills to identify issues; work independently and as a team member and have knowledge and understanding of panel assembly.

Requirements

  • Adheres to PPE and safety requirements of the production facility
  • Maintains consistent housekeeping of work area
  • Is on time with consistent attendance and operates through shift end
  • Manages own time clock effectively
  • Is a team player and takes direction from production manager
  • Is willing to do what it takes to get the job done safely and efficiently
  • Proactive problem solver
  • Follows instructions, willingness to learn and train when required
  • Consistently achieves high quality and volume targets of work area
  • Professional behavior in the workplace with good communication skills
  • Willingness to pursue training for trade knowledge advancement
  • 2 years of material handling or similar experience
  • Ability to read, count and write
  • Ability to lift and push 50 lbs >25% of production shift
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and criminal background check
  • Must be able to prove eligibility to work in the United States

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift certification or experience if required for work assignment

Responsibilities

  • Distributes appropriate materials to work areas as required
  • Timely distribution of production materials with ‘production first’ mentality
  • Safely operates forklift if required by work assignment
  • Properly maintains inspection log of forklift if required
  • Assembles finished product bundles and secure per work instructions
  • Tracks inventory levels and communicates needs proactively
  • All tools and equipment to be used in accordance with manufacturers’ recommendations
  • Abides by safe lifting procedures
  • Reads and interprets material information
  • Ensures quality parts and materials are distributed to production
  • Ensures finished product quality meets expectations
  • Ensures finished product bundles include all products specified and are of adequate quality for distribution
  • Supports all additional tasks directed by the production manager
