About The Position

The Material Handler/Yard Worker supports the day-to-day safety, sales, profitability, and operations of a GoMulch wholesale/retail landscaper depot. Reporting to the Store Manager, this hands-on position works inside the store and outside in the yard, operates forklifts and bucket loaders, and provides helpful, professional customer service. The role includes maintaining equipment and machinery, keeping the store and yard clean, assisting with inventory, and delivering products to customers using a company delivery truck. A CDL is not required. The position is full-time and hourly. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 7 AM–5 PM, and Saturday, 8 AM–12 noon. Daytime hours; no nights. The employee is frequently exposed to outdoor weather, fumes or airborne particles, and occasionally loud machinery noise. The role requires the ability to lift 50 pounds and perform frequent standing, walking, reaching, handling, climbing or balancing, and stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED, 1–3 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Valid Florida driver’s license and a good driving record.
Ability to read and interpret safety policies, operating and maintenance instructions, and other policies and procedures.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers and employees.
Command of the English language.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Ability to meet the described physical demands, including frequent standing, walking, reaching, handling, climbing or balancing, and stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.

Nice To Haves

Forklift certification.

Responsibilities

Comply with the ALL4Zero Safety Program and company policies and procedures.
Work inside the store and outside in the yard to meet customer expectations.
Perform daily safety and preventive-maintenance checks on equipment and machinery, including forklifts, bucket loaders, delivery trucks, and office equipment.
Maintain the cleanliness and housekeeping of the store and yard to provide a safe, professional, and positive shopping experience.
Assist customers with orders in a helpful and professional manner.
Assist the Store Manager with routine inventory counts and maintaining inventory accuracy.
Deliver products to customer locations using the company delivery truck.
Operate forklifts and bucket loaders to move materials.
Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
