Water Spider

Moveras, LLCPhoenix, AZ
$20 - $27Onsite

About The Position

Moveras is looking for an energetic and highly organized Material Handler / Water Spider to keep our transmission remanufacturing lines moving at peak efficiency. As a Water Spider, you are the pulse of the production floor. Your primary mission is to ensure that all workstations—from teardown and parts washing to quality control (QC) and final assembly—are continuously stocked with the right parts, tools, and materials. By managing the flow of transmission cases, gear sets, and consumable supplies, you will allow our technicians and builders to remain focused entirely on their core tasks without interruption. The ideal candidate has high physical stamina, a strong understanding of process flow, and a proactive mindset.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1+ years of experience in manufacturing, warehousing, material handling, or logistics.
  • Basic understanding of Lean principles (Kanban, 5S, Just-In-Time delivery).
  • Familiarity with operating pallet jacks and heavy carts.
  • Excellent time management and spatial awareness.
  • Highly proactive, self-motivated, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to walk continuously for the majority of the shift (often several miles a day).
  • Ability to stand, stoop, bend, and push/pull heavy carts loaded with transmission parts throughout the day.
  • Must be able to safely lift and move components weighing up to 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in an automotive plant or a Lean Manufacturing environment is highly preferred.
  • Forklift certification is a plus, but not always required for this specific role.
  • Comfortable working in a remanufacturing plant environment with exposure to noise, automotive fluids, and moving machinery.

Responsibilities

  • Constantly circulate through assigned zones on the production floor, delivering transmission components, hardware, and sub-assemblies to workstations exactly when they are needed (Just-In-Time).
  • Monitor and refill Kanban bins, hardware racks, and tool stations for teardown technicians, QC inspectors, and builders before they run out of supplies.
  • Safely transport heavy transmission components (e.g., cases, torque converters, valve bodies) between departments—such as moving freshly cleaned parts from the wash area to the QC inspection queue, and routing approved parts to assembly or machining.
  • Remove empty bins, pallets, trash, and scrap metal from workstations to keep the production areas clear, safe, and organized.
  • Safely operate manual and motorized material handling equipment, including pallet jacks, heavy-duty rolling carts, tuggers, and hand trucks.
  • Act as the "eyes and ears" of the floor. Anticipate the needs of the operators, identify potential bottlenecks in part flow, and communicate with supervisors to resolve delays.
  • Strictly follow standardized routes and schedules for material delivery. Help maintain plant-wide 5S standards by ensuring all materials are stored in their designated locations.
