About The Position

This position will function as the Team Lead for Material Handlers supporting our customer, the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA). The person in this position will perform activities related to the Team Lead function, while also performing Material Handler duties.

Requirements

  • 3 years of directly related experience working at NARA or similar work environment.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Team Lead responsibilities.
  • Professional Leadership skills (motivate, guide, inspire others, set positive example, delegate effectively, foster collaborative environment).
  • Comfortable with leading a team of 10-12 employees.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build positive relationships.
  • Ability to perform in a labor-intensive environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Able to lift boxes up to 30 to 50 lbs. regularly.
  • Able to climb ladders to reach shelving up to 15 feet high.
  • Pass a drug screen and a background check.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

  • Function as the Team Lead for Material Handlers.
  • Perform activities related to the Team Lead function.
  • Perform Material Handler duties.
  • Meet with the client or client point-of-contact to discuss logistics.
  • Monitor work performed for accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency.
  • Work closely with Government personnel to ensure services are delivered on time and accurately.
  • Monitor personnel to ensure they conduct themselves according to Standards of Conduct, personnel, and security requirements.
  • Serve as liaison between personnel and the client to resolve problems and communicate issues.
  • Escalate matters to the COR and/or the Project Manager, as appropriate.
  • Ensure all personnel sign in and out daily and their times are annotated correctly.
  • Verify weekly totals.
  • Remain on site during work performance, with limited exceptions.
  • Learn and understand work processes and procedures to assist with training personnel.
  • Ensure all labor tasks are completed within production standards.
  • Locate containers or folders on shelving.
  • Remove containers from shelving, check for missing and/or charged out containers, and verify pull list accuracy.
  • Mark pull list and report discrepancies.
  • Initial and deliver documentation to POC.
  • Place containers or folders on streamliners in order.
  • Move records to Designated Disposal Review Area.
  • Palletize containers for disposable records (label, stack, shrink wrap).
  • Confirm space requirements, load and transport records to assigned location.
  • Validate manifest and shelve non-disposable records being relocated.
  • Verify accuracy and inform Quality when inspection ready.
  • Retrieve batched requests.
  • Sign-out batches in appropriate logbook, recording pertinent information and start time.
  • Locate requested file/folder on reference request.
  • Search box, confirm if request is for a single or multi-volume file, pull file(s), and add pulled file marker.
  • Report if file/document is "Not-in-File" or "Charged-Out."
  • Audit folders and non-fulfilled references requests upon batch completion.
  • Sign-in completed batches in the appropriate logbook, recording completion time.
  • Clearly identify file/folders and stage for auditing.
  • Retrieve documents from containers, prepare documents for scanning by removing fasteners and verify order.
  • Verify hardware settings, resolution, and convert paper to digital images.
  • Verify image clarity by visual inspection, rescan problem images and return documents to containers.
  • Report issues to POC where needed.
  • Use handheld mobile to complete basic data entry in spreadsheets.
  • Assist with box list creation, data verification and record daily project totals.
